LOS ANGELES:-  Sarah Paulson is officially a member of the female led Ocean’s Eight movie cast. The 41-year-old had been rumoured to be circling a role in the all-female reboot of the Ocean’s Eleven movie earlier this year (16). And now, in a profile piece on the actress after she took home an Emmy Award for her role in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Variety have confirmed she has officially signed on to the project.–CM

Sarah completes the eight members of the team, and will star alongside Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and rapper/actress Awkwafina in the movie. While shooting has yet to begin on the film, cast members have already started building relationships, with Sandra one of the first to congratulate Sarah after her win at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night . “I had an emoji from Sandra Bullock!” Sarah told Variety magazine. “That’s a really good day.” The movie will be directed by Gary Ross and produced by filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, who directed George Clooney and Brad Pitt in the Ocean’s Eleven remake of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin’s 1960 heist caper. Matt Damon also starred in the 2001 movie, and recently voiced his support for the new reboot. “I think it’s going to be awesome,” he smiled to Entertainment Tonight Canada adding he “can’t wait” for the all-female spin-off. “They’re going to kick a*s.” Plot details surrounding Ocean’s Eight are currently under wraps, but much like the 2001 instalment, the premise of the movie revolves around a Las Vegas robbery. It remains to be seen whether Ocean’s Eight will be the first in a series of films about the female team of heist merchants. Ocean’s Eleven was followed by Ocean’s Twelve in 2004 and Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007. Filming on Ocean’s Eight is slated to begin in October.
