KARACHI - The KESC has agreed in principle to WAPDA reduction of 250 MW from the contractually committed 650MW to 400MW average, until 1 June 2010 only. The KESC said the bases of its agreement include that 'No change in existing load-shedding regime in Karachi for our residential and commercial customers, and maintaining total exemption for the dedicated industrial feeders. Similarly, increase in gas allocation from the current 200MMCFD (average) to at least 230MMCFD at all times; Supply of additional 1600 TPD furnace oil, on WAPDAs account and without burdening the KESC customers with the extra fuel cost, to compensate for the 250MW reduction in WAPDA supply.
