'N' reorganisation by September: Nawaz

LAHORE - PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif has said the process of party restructuring and reorganisation would be accomplished by the end of September this year. Electoral process for all the party offices across the country, will be accomplished in the first phase, and finally the elections for the central and provincial offices would be conducted in September, he stressed while addressing the party leaders and workers who met him here on Friday to discuss the party organisational matters. He vowed to complete the partys countrywide reorganisation process very soon. Similar high-level committees to monitor and steer the partys reorganisation will be set up in the rest of provinces, and the meetings of such committees would be convened in the respective provinces within next few days, Nawaz maintained. Talking about the next party elections, Nawaz said: Right now, our prime focus and the basic responsibility is to uphold the democratic norms while going through the process of restructuring and reorganising our party. We have to make sure that the upcoming party elections are held in accordance with the partys constitution and the electoral process is transparent, free and fair at all levels. Reiterating his commitment to the party workers and loyalists, he said that the party would take into account the sacrifices of those workers who remained steadfast and stood through thick and thin and had sacrificed during the past 10 years especially when their loyalties remained unquestioned and unshaken during Tehreek-e-Nijat and the tough times after that. Such workers are our asset and they would be given priority in the new set-up. He directed the participants to fast complete the electoral lists in order to accelerate the process of reorganisation in the whole Punjab. It was decided that members of the high-level committees in Punjab would complete their visit to all the divisions within next 15 days and they will compile a detailed progress report of the ongoing activities vis-a-vis partys reorganisation and the upcoming party elections. Similarly, the report will contain different suggestions and recommendations relating to partys interim set-up on divisional, district and tehsil level. The report will be submitted to Nawaz Sharif who is also the Chief Organiser of the Central Organising Committee of the PML-N and all its contents will be discussed in the next meeting. It was further decided that the committee will meet after every two weeks to follow up the ongoing reorganisation process. Similar meetings will also be held in the other provinces shortly.
