Despite being some 100-odd yards away from the action, goalkeepers have been known to pop-up from time-to-time to score vital goals for their sides. A dead ball specialist, Armys Jaffar Khan regularly scores from the set-pieces for the services team and his goal was attraction of the ongoing 20th NBP National Football Challenge Cup when Army overwhelmed Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd 4-0 at Multans Qila Kuhna Qasim Bagh under flood-lit system, said Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat. Jaffar also netted such three goals in Pakistan Premier Football League. Former Pakistan skipper and current captain of Army team captured the attention of the sporting press after curling a free kick around the wall and past his opposite number Zaman Ghani (SSGC). It is one of the 68 goals recorded in 19 matches so far.
