Engineers asked to mitigate power loadshedding






LAHORE – National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDCL) Managing Director Rasul Khan Mahsud has said that since NTDC is the backbone of power system, young engineers are expected to show their excellent performance regarding future of power sector.
He was addressing opening ceremony of week-long Orientation/Familiarisation programme duly arranged for-newly appointed 180 junior engineers in NTDCL from all over the country at Wapda House on Monday. “The NTDCL contributes in development of prosperous Pakistan by managing smooth and economical transmission and despatch system through professional excellence,” added Rasul Khan. Welcoming newly inducted engineers, he said that there was no shortcut to hard work and encouraged them to be part of efforts of Govt and NTDCL for mitigating loadshedding, which is hampering national economy. He also updated them about the vision of NTDCL with aim to provide and maintain a fault-free high voltage system with minimum possible losses and expenditure with the concerted efforts of management and engineering section.

 He said that recruitment of junior engineers was totally done on professional basis and they were amongst the few selected on purely merit.
“All your efforts should go in the development and adding values to the organisation which will give you sense of contribution, ownership and achievement in important national cause,” he added.
Later, different presentations about NTDCL, its role and functions were given by Human Resource DG Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh and Grid System Construction (GSC) GM Qamar Iqbal Bhatti and Information Technology Farooq Shaukat.
