RAWALPINDI - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday obtained 10-day physical remand of Mian Khurram Rasool in scrape fraud case.Accountability Court (AC) Number 1 Judge, Tariq Abbasi handed over Mian Khurram Rasool to NAB officials on 10-day physical custody. The court also sent Shahid Mehmood, the brother of Mian Khurram Rasool, to Adiala Jail on 14 days judicial remand. It is pertinent to mention here that both brothers Mian Khurram Rasool and Shahid Mehmood were facing a lawsuit for inducing the public at large to purchase sugar and scrap from Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) and Pakistan Arab Refinery (Parco) respectively. According to details, NAB officials produced Khurram and Shahid before the AC and pleaded 12 days of physical remand of the accused. However, AC No 1 Judge Tariq Abbasi rebuffed the appeal of NAB and granted only 10-day physical remand of Mian Khurram Rasool and sent Shahid Mehmood on judicial remand of 14 days. The court postponed the matter for next hearing till May 2, 2012.
