Imran throws TV debate challenge at Nawaz

SAHIWAL/RENALA KHURD  - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has once again challenged PML-N President Nawaz Sharif to a televise debate while addressing an election rally on Tuesday in Renala Khurd.
"Mian Sahib you cannot compete in cricket, at least compete in a debate," Khan said. The PTI Chairman added that the Sharif brothers had supported President Asif Ali Zardari.
Khan pledges that development funds would not be given to any MNA or MPA. "We are bringing a new system and our local government system will empower the people. All developments will be given to representatives from villages."
Imran said, if elected, he would end loadshedding and solve the energy crisis within two and a half years.
Earlier, addressing a huge rally in Sahiwal, Imran Khan said that the time of all old parties would be over and the people would celebrate their victory on May 11 when Punjab would be freed from the traditional rulers. Imran said he would free Punjab from the clutches of police and patwaris.
Lashing out at Shahbaz Sharif, Imran said that PML-N ruled over Punjab five-times but could not bring change in even a single department.
He said that the PPP and PML-N have an agreement to rule the country in tandem but people would thwart their plans with the power of their votes. PTI would not wait for another turn and bring changes in its first term, he added.
He asked the crowed, “Has the thana and patwari culture changed in Punjab?" The crowd responded with a roaring 'no'.
He said that Shahbaz Sharif failed to reform the education and health in Punjab despite ruling the province for five years.
"PTI is the party of the youth, and youth will now decide the future of the nation," Imran said.
He said that former dictator Pervez Musharraf was being treated according to the law.
The PTI chairman said: “I see Nawaz Sharif on one channel, Shahbaz Sharif on other, Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Sharif on other channels. This is a dynastic party and we will eliminate these dynastic parties. On the other hand Zardari wants to become Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
He said that the former rulers gave nothing to the masses but embarrassment, poverty and unemployment.
Imran Khan told the audience that Almighty Allah gave them a chance to choose their fate.  He said ‘we have to get rid of the incompetent rulers’, asking the audience to convince their parents and family members to vote for the PTI.
He said that Nawaz Sharif and Zardari were playing fixed match and protecting each other.
Imran said that under his rule, Pakistan would never be a slave of the US. “I assure you that foreigners will come to Pakistan for jobs.
He said that new system of education will be introduced in the country where equal chances of education will be provided to each student and health care would be available for every citizen.
PTI candidates for NA, Ali Shakoor and Muhmmad Yar Dhaku, besides Punjab Assembly candidates Sheikh Muhammad Chohan, Ch Omer Ishaq, Sajjad Nasir were present at the venue.
TheNation Monitoring adds: Responding to Imran Khan’s challenge to Mian Nawaz Sharif for a TV debate, Senator Pervez Rashid said that the PTI chief should first learn some manners to challenge the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President.
“Those who are calling Nawaz Sharif a coward should explain where were they hiding during the lawyers’ movement,” the PML-N leader told a private TV channel. “Imran is the political leader who needed security to protect himself from his own party workers,” he added.
Responding to Imran Khan’s announcement to computerise land record during his speech in Renala Khurd, Pervez Rashid said perhaps Imran Khan was not informed that former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif had always completed the task.
