KHANEWAL/RAHIM YAR KHAN -Two absconders have been killed in their alleged shootout with with police near Kusanabad, about 40km from here, on Wednesday.

According to police sources, Pupi Khokhar and Walia Sial along with one unknown companion were present in the area. Meanwhile, the Sari Sidhu police raided them. In the encounter, both the accused were injured seriously and died later while their accomplice managed to escape.

They were wanted in various cases of murder, robbery by Khanewal, Jhang and Verhari Police.

DPO Khanewal Rana Ayaz Saleem said that police on a tip-off conducted raid in Mauza Kusanabad where they clashed with the dacoits. The DPO said both the dacoits were wanted by Khanewal, Multan, Jhang and Muzafargarh Police in dozens of cases.

Meanwhile, three people died and at least 14 were injured in a collision of truck and van on National Highway near Kot Sabzal, some 58km from here on Wednesday.

As per detail, a van (AOR-0873) was coming to Sadiqabad from Sukkur. When it reached near Umair Filling Station Kot Sabzal it collided with a truck (RIE-9705).

As a result, Three people identified as 60-year-old Haji Khan, 49-year-old Amanet Mai and 7-year-old Shumaila died on the spot while 14 people were injured.

They were shifted to Sheikh Zayed Medical College Hospital and THQ Sadiqabad by Rescue 1122. The Kot Sabzal Police Have registered a case.
