SHEIKHUPURA - The head of a 65-year-old woman was chopped off by a fake spiritual healer on the pretext of pulling out evil forces from her body in village Easan in the remit of Sharqpur police on Wednesday.
Ghulam Fatima, a resident of Mandi Faizabad, had approached Basharat and stated that an evil force had paralysed her body and she could not move and work without the permission of said force.
The healer after reciting some contents took a sharp-edged weapon and shopped off her head with repeated strikes.
Later, he buried the head in a field and threw her body into the canal. An eyewitness informed the Sharqpur police about the incident. After arresting the accused, the police had took the body into custody.
POLICE TEAM ATTACKED: The Sharqpur police have registered a case against an Agriculture Bank manager and 12 other employees on the charge of thrashing an FIA team here on Wednesday.
The FIA team led by Assistant Director Aftab Butt after being received complaints about some discrepancies and irregularities, conducted a raid in the branch. During scrutiny, the team found more than 1,000 cheque books bogus and fictitious. When the FIA team tried to arrest manager Naseer Ahmad and deputy manager, all the other staff including bank guard attacked the FIA team and forced them to expel from the branch. Later, they disappeared from the branch. On contacting, Sheikhupura regional manager of the bank said that the matter was not so serious as the FIA team made it.
TWO ARRESTED: The Saddr Police have arrested two notorious drug paddlers dramatically and seized 6,100 grams opium from their possession. On a tip off, the police raided the den of Bilal Ahmad of Ghajiana village and arrested the paddler Nek Muhammad Pathan of Peshawar who brought the contraband from tribal area for sale at Bilal’s den.
A case has been registered against the accused accordingly.
TWO KILLED: In an exchange of firing between two rival groups, one person was killed while two passers-by sustained injuries in a Dera near Kot abdul Maalik. Rashid and Shaukat had an old political rivalry for the last several years. On the day of incident over a minor dispute, they exchanged hot words after which they started firing. As a result, Shaukat died at the spot while the two passers-by also suffered bullet injuries. Factory area police have started investigation against Rashid and his three accomplices.
A decomposed body of an unidentified person about 55 years old was found lying in a field adjacent to Moza Bhiki on Tuesday. Bhiki police after being taken the body into custody has sent it to city mortgage for an autopsy.
