CPO ordered to produce abductee

LAHORE: Justice Aalia Neelum of the Lahore High Court on Thursday directed Faisalabad City Police Officer for the recovery of a man likely to be killed in a fake police encounter, and directed the officer to produce him in the court on next hearing.
Daniyal Naveed, a relative of an abductee, filed the petition saying that police had kept Naveed alias Zahid, detained somewhere on the behest of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Rana Sana Ullah in order to kill him in fake encounter.  He said his relative had nothing to do with the allegations leveled against him. He apprehended that he would be murdered soon. The petitioner requested the court to order the police to recover him.–Staff Reporter
An SP CIA appeared in the court and said that Naveed wanted to police in various cases but was not in the custody of police. A law officer also pleaded the judge to remove the name of CM Shahbaz Sharif and Rana Sana Ullah from the petition but the judge turned down his request.
The judge directed CPO Faisalabad to produce the abductee on next hearing and adjourned the hearing until April 27.
