Islamabad - Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police has busted an inter-provincial gang of housemaids involved in looting houses under the guise of job opportunity, a police spokesman said.

SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon which worked hard and succeeded to nab four women who used to loot families impersonating housemaids with the assistance of their male accomplices.

The nabbed women have been identified as Shabana, Farzana, Saima and Musarrat, all residents of Chak number 27, Jaranwala, Faisalabad, and Javed, resident of Chak number 283, Samundari, Jaranwala. This gang of women used to enter houses in posh areas impersonating maids and take away valuables including cash and gold ornaments. During preliminary investigation, they confessed their involvement in five such cases in Islamabad, Lahore and other areas. Police have recovered Rs 800,000 and gold ornaments from their possession.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed in separate incidents in the federal capital on Wednesday.

According to details, one Allah Ditta hailing from Bheeka Syedan approached Shalimar police station with a statement that Danial Kazmi on Wednesday crushed his daughter Aneesa under the wheels of his jeep and also caused damage to the house wall as the latter did reverse the vehicle. Shalimar police registered a case against the accused under section 279, 427, 337-G, 320 of PPC. However, police are yet to arrest the accused.

In another incident, an unknown driver hit his car with a rickshaw at IJP Road, killing one Singhar Khan sitting in the rickshaw. The Industrial Area police have registered a case under section 279, 427, 337-G, 320 of the PPC.
