KARACHI : The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $17,491.0m on 17 April 2015. The break-up of the foreign reserves position released by central bank, foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan stood at $12,364.0 million, net foreign reserves held by banks are $5,127.0m, thus total liquid foreign reserves are $17,491.0m.  During the week ending 17 April 2015, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by $605m to $12,364m, compared to $11,759m in the previous week. The increase in reserves in mainly attributed to receipts of privatisation proceeds of Habib Bank Limited.

During the week SBP made payments of $270 million on account of external debt servicing and other official payments.
