Fozia Fayyaz appointed as first female consular in Saudi Arabia

Pakistan has appointed its first female consular, Fozia Fayyaz Ahmed, at Consulate General Pakistan Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  

Fozia said that as a country Pakistan has always recognized the true status and potential of women which depicts that Pakistan is a progressive country where women continue to excel in their respective fields.

Furthermore, she said that the foreign ministry has always programmes to extend opportunities for success of women.

She expressed hope that now with her appointment more women would be inducted into the section of embassy headed by her.

Fozia gave credit to her father for encouraging all his children equally in their education and career which help her in keeping her determination to soar to new heights. 

Fozia hails from southern Punjab, acquired a Master’s degree in English Literature from Islamia University in Bahawalpur after which she took her CSS exams.

Previously, she has also served in Washington DC and New Delhi as a diplomat.
