KARACHI Brother of Awami National Partys MNA Pervaiz Khan was gunned down in Karachi on Monday while he was going home with his driver. According to details, unidentified armed men targeted Asif Jan near Civic Centre within the limits of New Town police station. Police said that deceased was the brother of ANP MNA, elected from Swabi, resident of Civil Lines KMC Apartm-ents,who has left behind five children. The victim was Accountant of Land Department, City District Government Karachi and was on his way home in a car bearing registration number ARM-521 with his driver Nisar when unidentified armed men open indiscriminate firing. As per result Asif Jan died on the spot while his driver sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Police rushed to the scene and later his body was shifted to Jinnah Post Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities. Following the incident, a large number of ANP workers reached JPMC and started chanting slogans against the govt and failure to control law, order. The driver Nisar later said that they were on the way to home when two armed riders wearing shirt and trousers intercepted the car and opened firing on Asif Jan. Following the incident, heavy aerial firing was reported in different parts of the City including Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Shah Faisal Colony, Old Sabzi Mandi, Banaras Chowk, Sohrab Goth, Quaida-bad and other Pakhtoon do-minated areas. It is pertinent to mention here that about 125 people have been killed and over 200 were wounded during the current month while high-ups failed to chalk out counter-strategy to save the lives of common people of the City.
