LAHORE - The Pakistan Metrological Department has said that rains are expected in India during the next three days and if its courses were filled again, it could release more water in the River Ravi, which would be a threat to the people of Narowal, Shakargarh, Shah-dara and Kasur. Director Flood Forecasting Division Lahore Akram Anjum admitted that due to heavy rains in India last days, its rain courses were filled and it released water to Pakistan. Therefore, the authorities alerted the people of Narowal, Shakargarh, Kasur and Shahd-ara, he added. He said water at Shahdara was recorded 42,000 cusecs on Saturday but it was decreasing constantly and it was 32,000 cusecs on Monday morning. The threat of high flood will subside soon, he added. Anjum further said that water released by India from its rain courses, Bein and Basa-nter, had been decreased in the river at Shahdara on Monday.
