KURRAM AGENCY At least seven people including a schoolteacher were killed and six others got injured when a bomb went off at a jirga here on Monday. According to details, a jirga of the tribal elders was in progress to settle a dispute with regard to ownership of a school between two tribes in Khuizai, when a bomb went off, killing seven tribesmen including a schoolteacher Shaban of Yaroo village and injuring six others. According to eyewitness, they were passing by the locality when they heard the thundering voice of the blast. On reaching near to the site, they saw seven dead bodies. Official sources confirmed that the blast took place during proceedings of a jirga. It was apparently a remote-controlled blast. Soon after the blast, personnel and officials of the political administration reached the site and cordoned off the area. They said that the jirga was in progress to settle a dispute between the two tribes in Kurram Agency. No organisation has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. Meanwhile, security forces have arrested four suspected militants and destroyed their hideouts in Shaghazyan, Lower Kurram Agency. Curfew was also imposed in Bagan while Tal-Parachinar Road was closed for all kinds of traffic. It may be mentioned here that security forces had foiled a terror attempt by apprehending a would-be suicide bomber and 11 militants in Sateen area of Lower Kurram Agency.
