LAHORE - Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that instead of worrying about Qarz Utaro Mulk Sanwaro scheme Babar Awan should account for the money he had distributed among his favourite lawyers. He said Qarz Utaro Mulk Sanwaro scheme, which was aimed at ridding the country of foreign loan was completely transparent and its details could be seen on page 127 and 128 of the report of State Bank of Pakistan for the year 2000-01. Sanaullah said Qarz Utaro Scheme was a big achievement of Nawaz Sharif government but the present leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party does not have the same spirit to resolve the problems being faced by the country. He said that according to the State Bank report, an amount of 178.3 million US dollars, which is equal to Rs 1226.2 million were collected under the scheme which was used to repay foreign loans and strengthen national economy. He said the money collected under the scheme was not deposited in some ones personal account but its entire record is available with State Bank of Pakistan. The minister further said Babar Awan should bring billions of dollars of his leadership, which are in Swiss banks to Pakistan and utilise them for the relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees. He advised Babar Awan to refrain from the politics of mudslinging as the statement on oath of the elements who robbed Bank of Punjab of billions of rupees is on record that Babar Awan got billions of rupees from them for the withdrawal of the case and also spent millions of rupees on shopping in Dubai.
