FAISALABAD - Six people including a manager of a local hotel, students and other passers-by were killed here on Monday evening, two minutes before Iftari when an oil tanker expolded at Rajbah Road near Chowk GTS. The noise of the blast spread in different parts of the City and created fear among the people. However, police and Rescue 1122 contingent reached the spot after receiving the information of the incident. The sources said an oil tanker of PSO was parked at Rajbah Road at most busy and congested GTS Square when all of a sudden it blasted. The people killed in the incident include Omer Saeed, a student Muzaffar, Manager of Hotel, Canal Road, Faisalabad, Javaid Gulzar, Bahadur, an unknown person and others. The people of the area told this scribe that the oil tanker was empty and it was getting welded without opening the cap from its roof due to which the dangerous pressure of gas gathered in it and resulted in the blast. Rescue 1122 sources told the nation that the killed student Muzaffar had some money and other luggage in his possession. The family members can have them from the office of Rescue 1122, GTS Square, they added.
