PESHAWAR At least three persons including two members of Adezai Peace Lashkar were killed and seven others including two minors got injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast here in Mattni Bazaar on Monday evening. Sources said that the bomb was planted on a roadside and probably the peace volunteers were the main target, as it was detonated when they were busy shopping for Iftar dinner. The intensity of the blast was so severe that it jolted the entire area and caused severe fear and panic among the residents. Soon after the blast, the rescue teams and local people rushed towards the site and retrieved the dead and injured persons from the blast site. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. Police and other law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and started investigation. They collected evidence from the blast site. An official of the bomb disposal squad told TheNation that around 15 kilogram explosive material was used in the attack. The deceased were identified as Islam Gul, Arsala and a minor Hazrat Nabi, while the injured included Iqrar Hussain, Haista Gul son of Sultan Gul, Israr son of Hazrat Seed, Din Muhammad son of Faqeer, Nazar Muhammad son of Jan Hameed, Saira daughter of Nazar Muhammad, Ibrahim son of Gul, and Rahman son of Fazal Rahman.
