OUR STAFF REPORTER FAISALABAD - Dozens of students of University of Agriculture Faisalabad staged a protest demonstration against the university administration for increasing prospectus price from Rs 300 to Rs 1,500 and announcing a test for M Sc, M Phil and MS admissions. They demanded immediate withdrawal of the raise and screening decision. They threatened that if university administration did not take back its anti-student steps, they would stage a protest sit-in at central gate of the varsity. ADMISSIONS OPEN: the UAF invited applications for admissions for all programme and levels including FSc (pre-agriculture), BSc, MA and MSc, Mphil and PhD at its main campus, College of Agriculture, Dera Ghazi Khan and sub campus in Toba Tek Singh. The last date to apply for intermediate and undergraduate degree programme is September 7, 2011 while the last date to apply for the postgraduate programmes, Mphil and PhD programmes is September 8, 2011. The prospectus including admission forms for each course can be obtained from the Habib Bank Limited, UAF office of the principal, Dera Ghazi Khan campus. It can be downloaded from the University website as well. The applicants have to attach bank draft/pay order in favour of Treasure, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. For admission to MSc (Hons), Mphil and MS, the applicants must submit the proof of qualifying GRE test to be organised by NTS or UAF. The GRE (subject) test is mandatory requirement for PhD programme. However, GRE ( Subject) test qualified from NTS is compulsory to get admission for the disciplines of Faculty of Sciences, Agto Economics, Agri Extension and Food Tech. Candidates who want to get admission to PhD must submit research proposal along with admission form. Besides, the university provides scholarship and financial assistance for the needy students under Pak-US Need Based Scholarship, HEC-JICA sponsored scholarships, US Need Based Scholarship and HEC Financial Assistance for postgraduate students .The Intermediate and Undergraduate courses include FSc (Pre-Agriculture), BSc Agri sciences, Food Science, Animal Science, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences Medicine, BSC in Agri Engineering, Food Engineering, Agriculture, poultry sciences and home economics. The test for DVM will be held on August 26, 2011 under NTS.
