LAKKI MARWAT - A four-member committee was formed on Thursday to scrutinize the tentative seniority lists of teachers of different categories.

“The committee was formed by the District Elementary and Secondary Education Department to closely examine the recently prepared tentative seniority lists of teachers”, said an official while talking to this scribe.

He said that the committee consists of Principal gcmhs Muzamil Khan, Principal GHSS Masha Mansoor Muhammad Umar, Principal GHSS Abdulkhel Anwar Khan and Principal GHSS Abakhel Aslam Khan.

He said that the committee members would verify the particulars of certified teachers, Arabic teachers, theology teachers, Qari teachers, physical education teachers and drawing masters with their original service books and would also suggest necessary corrections.

He told that a schedule for scrutinizing the seniority lists had also been issued with instructions to the teachers to appear before the committee in person along with service books. According to the schedule, he said, the committee would examine the seniority lists of certified teachers on Aug 27 in Government Centennial Model High School for boys Lakki.

“The seniority lists of physical education teachers and drawing masters will be scrutinized on Aug 28 while the particulars of theology teachers and Qari teachers will be closely examined with their service books on Aug 29 in the same high school of Lakki city”, he maintained.  He added that seniority lists of Arabic teachers would be scrutinized by the committee on August 30.

Boy electrocuted

Meanwhile, a teenaged boy was electrocuted to death in Baistkhel village.

According to reports, Haroon Khan, 18, was trying to restore power supply from a transformer through a wooden rod when suddenly he got electric shock.

He was rushed to a hospital in Naurang town where he was pronounced dead.

The deceased Haroon Khan was the eldest son of Mir Sada Khan, a farmer by profession. Later, he was buried in a local graveyard at Baistkhel village. A large number of villagers and people from different walks of life attended his funeral prayers.

Test for job in police

The first phase of physical test for recruitment in district police force concluded here.

An official said that 1260 candidates, who had applied for job as constables in police force, took part in the physical test held in the Sports Complex at the district headquarters Tajazai.

He said that DPO Umar Riaz, SP Investigation Muhammad Idrees and SDPO Lakki Bashar Khan were present there to supervise the activity.

“Out of them 230 candidates passed the test and qualified for the second phase of written test,” he maintained.

He told that the district police administration had made foolproof security arrangements on the occasion to ensure holding of physical test in a peaceful atmosphere.

Dry reed burnt to ashes

Nearly 500 dry reed (a kind of plant) burnt to ashes in village Shah Hasankhel the other day.

Reports said that the fire suddenly broke out turning the dump of reed bundles into ashes. The incident inflicted a huge financial loss on the owner, Muhammad Khan. Cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately.

It is pertinent to mention here that residents of rural localities in sandy parts of the district use dry reed to make chak and other domestic use articles and then supply it to other parts of the country for earnings.
