ISLAMABAD  – Islamabad Police have arrested 15 outlaws from various areas of the city including five dacoits and recovered six pistols and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said on Thursday.

According to details, ASI Muhammad Iqbal from Ramana police arrested three street criminals Shehzad resident of Lahore, Shakeel resident of Pindi Bhattian, Imran resident of Attock and recovered weapons as well as looted cash from their possession.

ASI Waheed Ahmed from Tarnol police arrested two dacoits Ghulam Hussain and Zabi Ullah while Sub-Inspector Ajmal Khan nabbed three thieves identified as Faizan Ahmed, Naeem Sajjad and Asad Mehmud. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Riaz from Industrial area succeeded to bust a gang of dacoits and recovered two pistols and looted items from them. The nabbed dacoits were identified as Shaaban Iqbal, Sajid and Rizwan Iqbal.

Sub-Inspector Mansoor Ahmed from Bani Gala police arrested Shamas ur Rehman and Minhaz Hussain for having two 30 bore pistols. ASI Javed Iqbal from Shehzad town police arrested an accused Waseem for possessing 30 bore pistol while another accused Fazal ur Rehman was arrested by ASI Saleem Raza from Shalimar police station for having 30 bore pistol too.

ASI Ghulam Rasool from Loi Bher police arrested Ismail and recovered stolen items from him. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials to intensify vigilance and patrolling in their respective areas to curb activities of anti-social elements.

Meanwhile, a sixteen-year-old son of a policeman of the Federal Capital was shot dead by his friends and injured another one, said a police spokesman on Thursday.

Muhammad Kashif son of Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Annar, who is serving at Aabpara police station, was taken to a house in Sector G-6/1-2 by his friends to assault him. However, on resistance, they shot him dead and dumped his body near a school in Sector G-6/4.

Later, they tried to molest their other friend, 17-year old Jamal Khan son of Shah Hussain in Bani Gala area. They also shot at him and dumped him there after considering him dead. Fortunately, injured Jamal was spotted by the local people and shifted to hospital. Jamal, in his statement, reported to the Bani Gala police station that accused Usman and Haider, sons of late DSP Ch Tajj, Naeem Khan,

Mehmood Khan and Saifullah were behind the incident. He also told the police about Kashif’s death. The Bani Gala police registered cases under sections 324/148 and 149. The police recovered the body of deceased Kashif from Street No 57 in Sector G-6/4. A separate case was also registered at Aabpara police station. Meanwhile, an Aabpara police team arrested one of the accused Usman.      

According to the spokesman, separate police teams have been constituted to arrest the absconding killers following the directions of IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq.
