Karzai calls Raja to extend Eid greetings

Islamabad : Afghan President Hamid Karzai telephoned Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Thursday and extended Eid greetings to him. During the telephonic conversation, the prime minister thanked the Afghan president and reciprocated similar feelings. Both the leaders reiterated their resolve to work for peace and stability in the region.
While talking to Karzai, Prime Minister Raja said his government was firmly committed to a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan.
The prime minister emphasised that interaction between the two countries should continue to further improve the existing brotherly relations and said he was looking forward to meet him in the near future.
The two leaders also discussed important issues, including fight against terrorism and exchanged their views on Pak-Afghan relations, as they vowed to establish peace in the region by combating terrorism.
