ISLAMABAD-Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf directed the Establishment Secretary to ensure that appointments, transfers and postings of government servants were made on merit and on the principle of “right man for the right job”.
This direction was given by the Prime Minister when the Establishment Secretary, Taimur Azmat Osman called on him at the PM’s House here on Thursday.
The Prime Minister expressed the hope that government servants especially those associated with public dealing and in the delivery chain would utilise their experience and capabilities to address the grievances of the people.
He also directed the Establishment Division to ensure proper career planning of the officers. Raja Pervaiz said that timely promotion of officers is critical to maintain the morale of bureaucracy, motivate them and improve their efficiency.
In this connection, he directed the Establishment Division to ensure that promotions of deserving officers in all grades are held on time.
Raja directed that all administrative and legal requirements should be fulfilled so that promotion cases were processed expeditiously.
