LAHORE – The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) management dropped the luggage of 20 Umrah pilgrims at the Islamabad airport from where they were brought to Lahore through a connecting flight, passengers complained on Thursday.

A passenger said on the condition of anonymity that he travelled to Pakistan through a PIA Umrah flight, PK-7542, from Jeddah and landed at the Islamabad airport at 4:40pm on August 22.

He said 20 pilgrims were transported to Lahore through a connecting flight, PK-657, from Islamabad. On arrival at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore after waiting for more than an hour, they contacted the PIA Lost and Found Section where the staff told them that their luggage was left at Islamabad airport because the plane was small.

A pilgrim, Nadeem, said that he belonged to Gujranwala and he had arranged a van for luggage but now he would have to pay more to collect his luggage. Another pilgrim said that her gifts and valuables were in her luggage and she feared for her luggage.

Among other pilgrims belonged to Raiwind, Wazirabad Sheikhupura and other areas.
