At least 18 people were killed and several others injured in US drone strikes in North Waziristan Agency on Friday, security sources said. The sources said that the unmanned US planes fired 10 missiles in three different attacks in Tehsil Shawal of the agency on Friday. They added that at least 18 people were killed in the attacks. The state-run television reported that the incident occurred at Tanda Dara, the bordering town with Afghanistan, that killed 18 people and injured several others. The recent attacks came just a day after Pakistan Foreign Office summoned a senior United States diplomat to lodge protest over drone strikes in the tribal agency that killed over 15 alleged militants in one week. The FO informed the US diplomat that drone strikes were unlawful, against international law and a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.
