LAHORE: Investigation Branch DIG Zulfiqar Hameed on Friday awarded punishment to four policemen on different charges ranging from dereliction form duty to poor performance.

The DIG also gave cash prizes and certificates to eleven police officials for arresting the accused persons involved in a kidnapping case registered in the Hanjarwal police station. A police spokesman said the DIG demoted ASI Muhammad Hussain to the rank of head constable on the charges of poor investigation. He also awarded minor punishments to three inspectors including Zulfiqar Ali, Fayyaz Hussain and Abdul Ghafoor on the charges of poor performance and misuse of authority. Hameed also gave certificates and cash prizes of five thousand rupees each to Mehdi Kazmi, Zawar Hussain, Khawar Abbas and Muhmmad Rasheed, Iftikhar Ahmad, Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Nawaz, Maqsood Ahmed, Muswar Hussain, Tariq Mahmood and Muhammad Latif for arresting the accused involved in a case of kidnapping for ransom.–Staff Reporter

Zafar Ali’s work shown

LAHORE: A special stall was set up at the Johar Town Expo Centre to show Maulana Zafar Ali Khan’s works on Friday. The Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust also took initiative to show CDs of Maulana’s verse at the stall.

The trust managers also managed to give awareness about the services rendered by the veteran journalist. The exhibition will last on August 25.

NPT on awareness drive

LAHORE: Students of Girls High School Burj Atari on Friday visited Aiwan-i-Karkunan Tehrik-i-Pakistan. They saw Pakistan Movement gallery and attended Pakistan Aghi ceremony at the Aiwan.

Also the mobile ideological units led by their coordinators visited CDG Girls High School Wahdat Colony, Government High School Chamra Mandi, Government Boys High School Shah Alam Market and Government Boys School Jarranwala Road.
