RAWALPINDI - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that parks not only improve the environment in the city but also provide recreational facilities to the citizens. The Punjab government has been striving hard to make new parks in all the cities to provide the citizens a healthy atmosphere.
The CM expressed these views after inaugurating National Logistic Cell (NLC) Park at Fort Road in the garrison area here on Friday.
He was flanked by Quarter Master General Lt General Sajjad Ghani, NLC Director General (DG) Major General Asghar Nawaz, PML-N MNA Malik Abrar Ahmed, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Khalid Masood Chaudhry, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajid Zafar and others.
Shahbaz said that parks not only improve the environment in the city but also provided recreational facilities to the people.
   Shahbaz Sharif that the Punjab government was working to improve the condition of existing parks and construct new ones.
He said that the provincial government was also committed to provide people all facilities for entertainment and healthy environment to forge a balanced society. In this regard, the government utilizes all the resources, he said.
During his visit to park areas, the CM was briefed about the details of park and attached building and expenditures. He also planted a sapling to mark the sign of inauguration of the park.
It may be mentioned that the CM during his last government had provided funds of billions of rupees for Rawalpindi for widening of Chohr Chowk, construction of Pir Wadahi Mor Flyover and Underpass as well as construction and extension of Golra Road.
