He stressed that public policies should be reflective of government’s resolve and commitment with public welfare and must be implemented in their letter and spirit.

The Governor said the role of National School of Public Policy in training of professionals from both public and private sectors was laudable. It should now consider actively expanding its services to the regional countries as well, he added.

The Governor further said that there was a correlation between democracy and economy. “Economic development always helps democracy”, he said, adding that country’s economy unfortunately had been ruined by the war on terrorism which had also affected its exports and discouraged foreign investments.

Later in the day, a 40-member delegation of Lahore Chamber Of Commerce & Industries led by its President Farooq Iftikhar called on the Governor and apprised him of the problems facing the business community.
