LAHORE - Plains of the country remained in the grip of muggy weather on Saturday with experts predicting the harsh conditions to persist during the next couple of days.
Weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, rain-thundershowers occurred at isolated places of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Gujranwala divisions and Kashmir.  Lack of rains, winds and abundance of sunshine caused considerable increase in the mercury level with high humidity making the weather muggy, causing people to sweat profusely throughout the day.
Dalbandin remained hottest place in the country where mercury rose as high as 43 degree Celsius. Maximum temperature in Sibbi, Dadu, Bhakkar and Nokundi was recorded 41 C.  In Lahore, maximum and minimum temperature was recorded 38 C and 25 C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 38 per cent.
According to the experts, seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and adjoining areas. Weak monsoon currents are penetrating into upper parts of the country. A shallow trough lies over Kashmir and adjoining areas.  
Local meteorological department has forecast mainly hot and humid weather for most parts of the country during the next couple of days.
However, rain-thundershowers are expected at isolated places of Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Kashmir.
