Anti-Terrorist Court Multan headed by Javed Iqbal Warraich on Saturday granted pre-arrest bail to 17 activists of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz who were nominated in an FIR for attacking the residence of PTI Vice Chairman Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Those who got pre-arrest bail include PML-N District President Bilal Butt, General Secretary Sheikh Athar Mumtaz, Vice President Shahid Mukhtar Lodhi, Sarwat Khan, Maqsooda Ansari, Hamza Shahid Lodhi, Munir Akhtar Langah, Hafeez Joiya, Matiul Hassan, Zafar Qadri, Tariq Amir Abbasi, Traders Association President PML-N, Syed Jafar Shah, PML-N Labour wing divisional President Abdul Ghaffar Awan, Saleem Bhatti and others.

Bilal alias Billu Butt and 18 others appeared in the special ATC where he denied having been involvement in the attack. He claimed that he was in fact trying to restrain the workers. He expressed the hope that the court would provide him justice.

Later, talking to the journalists, the PML-N activists said that they had not violated any law and exercised their democratic right to peaceful protest. They added that the grant of bail to them was victory of truth.

It may not be out of place to mention here that about 50 workers of PML-N led by district president Bilal Butt had besieged the residence of Shah Mehmood Qureshi three days back and the workers smashed the main gate of the house. Police had registered a case against 17 nominated and 30 unidentified persons. However, no arrest was made.
