Saad Rafique conveys PM’s message to Dr. Tahirul Qadri

ISLAMABAD- PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique today met chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr. Tahirul Qadri and conveyed to him Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s message.

PAT President Raheeq Abbasi also accompanied Qadri in the meeting. “I arrived here to end deadlock in our dialogues. We will soon start our negotiations if God willing. Mr. Qadri has said that they will hold only meaningful and conclusive dialogues,” said Saad Rafique while speaking to journalists after the meeting.

Raheeq Abbasi said on the occasion that his party was ready for result-oriented talks. “To make the process meaningful, we want meaningful and result-oriented to end the deadlock,” he said, adding that the PAT has neither shown any flexibility nor changed its demands.

Sources said Khawaja Saad Rafique has communicated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s especial message to Qadri regarding his demands and concerns. Breakthrough is expected following the meeting between the PML-N stalwart and Dr. Qadri who is leading thousands of his party’s protestors outside the Parliament House in Islamabad demanding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resignation.

The protest is also joined by Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The government is currently holding dialogue with both the parties to end political deadlock. However, the PML-N and PTI have yet to come out of the impasse as the two sides are not ready to give any concession to each other. Next round of talks is likely today.
