Bajaur blasts kill PPP leader, injure four security men

BAJAUR AGENCY - A leader of Pakistan People’s Party was killed and four security personnel got injured in two separate terror incidents yesterday in Mamond tehsil of Bajaur Agency.
According to the officials of local political administration, the first incident took place in Gilele area, about 20 kilometres away from the agency headquarter Khar, when a roadside explosive device blew up near the house of Malik Mohammad Khan. Malik Mohammad Khan was the president of PPP Mamond tehsil. He was walking to a nearby place from his home when unidentified persons targeted him with remote-controlled bomb. He died on the spot, the officials added.
The second incident occurred in Sapary area where at least four security men were injured in a roadside blast. The officials said that paramilitary troops were on a routine patrol in the mountains when they were hit by a remote-controlled bomb planted by militants. Later, local people and members of peace committees rushed towards the blast site and took the injured to the Agency Headquarters Hospital Khar for treatment.
The injured security men were later airlifted to Peshawar.
Earlier on Saturday last, three people including two tribal elders were killed and two others got injured in a bomb blast in Arang area of Utmankhial tehsil.
