LAHORE - A girl suspected of infected by Congo virus died in Mayo Hospital Lahore on Tuesday.

Mayo Hospital sources said that 12-year old Laiba, living at Narang Mandi, was admitted in the hospital a day earlier. The doctors were suspecting that it was a case of Congo virus infection.

Sources said that doctors were awaiting Laiba’s medical report from National Institute of Health (NIH).

The health department has been informed of the 12-year old’s death.

Chief Minister’s health adviser Kh Salman Rafiq directed the other day for continuing zero period in schools for creating awareness regarding Congo virus on the pattern of dengue.

The adviser also directed the officials to ensure implementation on all the decisions taken at the meeting. The medical experts were of the view that early diagnosis was essential for the treatment of Congo.
