LAHORE - Customs authorities arrested an airhostess of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and recovered two kg gold from her possession at Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIAP) here on Tuesday.

The PIA has also started an inquiry against the said airhostess allegedly involved in smuggling of gold. Spokesman for PIA said that strict action would be taken against her if allegations were found true.

On the day of incident, senior air hostess Nuzhat Bokhari was proceeding towards New York-bound flight Pk-721. During search process, 2Kg gold was recovered from her luggage. After which ANF arrested her and later handed her over to Customs authorities for further action.

In another case, ANF authorities at Lahore airport arrested a passenger, Shahid, and recovered 1.5Kg heroin from his possession. The passenger was heading to Riyadh, the capital of KSA. The accused is resident of Sargodha and value of the narcotics in international market is in millions.
