KASUR-The district police have finalised a master plan for the security of Baba Bulleh Shah Urs celebrations and 1,884 policemen would be deployed to avoid any untoward incident.

According to DPO Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the plan has been finalised after the shrine’s premises were thoroughly inspected. “An SSP, one SP, eight DSPs, 35 inspectors, 76 sub-inspectors, 140 assistant sub-inspectors, 127 head constables, 1,112 constables, 52 lady constables, 248 policemen and police volunteers and 85 civil defence volunteers would discharge duty in three shifts,” the DPO detailed. He said that 155 traffic police personnel would also be deployed on the ways leading to the shrine, to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

“The Elite Police would also conduct patrolling in the adjoining areas of the shrine,” he said, adding that the policemen would also be deployed at tall buildings near the shrine to keep a close eye on the movement of suspects.

He said that all the Urs proceedings would be monitored through 60 CCTV cameras installed in the shrine.

“Search operations are also being carried out in the nearby areas of the shrine,” he informed.

GIRL RAPED: A girl was raped in Ellahabad area. According to police, the affected girl was alone at home located in Bhagiwal area when the accused identified as Azam trespassed the house and raped her. The Ellahabad Police registered a case against the accused.
