Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders, Captain (retd) Safdar and Hanif Abbasi , underwent successful angioplasties recently and the decision on when to shift them back to Adiala Jail will be made in a couple of days.
Both leaders had stents put in their hearts due to arterial blockages. Their doctors have advised that they stay under medical supervision at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology for a couple of days.
Their conditions will be assessed after two to three days, after which the doctors will decide whether they are fit to go back to the jail.
Abbasi has been jailed in the ephedrine supply case while Captain (retd) Safdar has been sentenced to one year in the Avenfield reference. Abbasi’s family has claimed that they are not being allowed to meet him at the hospital.
