Who told President Zardari, Premier Gillani and minister Sherry that the Indian warplanes' incursion was "technical" and "inadvertent" even while New Delhi had not even clarified? Instead, India declared the next day that "no violation of Pakistani airspace was made" making a mockery of our viewpoint on the subject. Even after the Pentagon confirmed through CNN that the violation was actually meant to launch aerial attack on Muridke and it was actually the Washington that stopped India from launching a full-fledged attack, the government continued to call it 'inadvertent'. Do we have enough penetration in Indian Air Force system to have the information of a technical mistake having been committed or have we assumed the role of IAF spokesman of our own accord to thwart the threat posed to our nation? Why are we making a deliberate attempt to hoodwink the people of our country? Rather than warning the nation about the imminent danger we are facing, we are pretending that nothing is going to happen. Why? -RABAIL I. CHAUDHRY, Sialkot, via e-mail, December 17.
