PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) on Monday announced to stage a sit-in in Peshawar on January 26 against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for not resolving people’s problems.

Addressing a news conference here at the party’s provincial secretariat, JUI-F Senior Vice President Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman said that his party has decided to stage protest demonstrations and a sit-in in the provincial metropolis as the KPK government was failed completely in resolving the problems being faced by people. Besides, he said that it is crystal clear that law and order situation is worsening with each passing day. “The JUI-F’s sit-in will be held outside the KPK Assembly,” he said, adding different opposition parties would also join their protest against the provincial government. These demonstrations and sit-in will be addressed by the party’s central and provincial leadership.  –SAID ALAM KHAN

He said that law and order situation was worsening with each passing day. He said that incidents of extortion, target killing and abduction for ransom have been increased. The PTI government, he alleged did nothing for protecting of people’s lives and honour.

He said that Imran Khan had made many tall claims regarding changing people fortunate but unfortunately nothing has done so far in this connection.

The JUI-F senior vice president said that his party was working for strengthening democracy and democratic institutions. “We never want to get into power in KPK,” he added. He demanded the federal government to halt operation in North Waziristan Agency immediately and lift curfew as acute shortage of edible items was reported in the area.
