Two bogies of Karachi-bound Tezgam Express train on Monday caught fire, however, the passengers remained safe during the incident.

According to rescue sources, Tezgam Express train was going to Karachi from Lahore when all of sudden, fire broke out in bogy number 09 after which the fire caught bogy 10 as soon as the train reached near Rahim Yar Khan.

The fire created panic among the passengers; however, the rescue team rescued passengers unhurt from the affected bogies. The passengers were shifted to Rahim Yar Khan Railway station.

The rescue and fire brigade teams extinguished the fire after two hours of hectic efforts.

During rescue operation, railway traffic was suspended on the down track of Khanpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
