KARACHI (APP) - Prime Minister, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Yakoob Khan has invited Pakistani business community to invest in AJK having very bright and potential investment opportunities in various fields especially in tourism, hydel power generation and precious stones mining. While addressing members of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) during his visit to Federation House here on Monday the AJK Premier assured that those who want to set up an industry or other commercial facility in AJK would get all formalities/procedures completed within two days period. " It will take only two days to clear a file enabling you to start a new project ," he said adding that all infrastructure is already there. He invited suggestions from Pakistani businessmen for boosting trade and industry in AJK which is rich in natural resources. He urged Pakistani businessmen to project/lobby internationally for independence of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir from India as Indian businessmen are doing to strengthen Indian position in the world. President FPCCI, Sultan Ahmed Chawla along with his Vice Presidents Zakria Usman, Mansha Chhura and Mumtaz Ali Shaikh welcomed the AJK Prime Minister on his arrival at Federation House. Sardar Muhammad Yakoob Khan said that his Government was to extend all possible support for the revival of sick industries remaining non-operative for a long period. " There are many industrial units set up by Pakistanis which are now sick. We would like to know about the causes so that the situation can rectified," he asserted. The AJK Prime Minister said his country can meet the electricity demand of Pakistan as there is 6,000 MW to 8,000 MW hydel generation potential. Chinese company has already started work on 1000 MW Neelum-Jehlum river power project, he informed the FPCCI members. He said AJK Government has canceled all letters of intent for various projects signed by the companies more than 15 years back. He vowed to bring social and economic revolution in AJK within next two and half years by boosting industrialization , trade and development. For this purpose, he is visiting Pakistani cities to mobilise the potential investors and that investors from some other countries have already shown interest to move in AJK in different sectors. He invited suggestions from Pakistani businessmen so that AJK economic potential could be duly tapped. He thanked Pakistanis for extending support to Kashmir cause and their Kashmiri brethren. The AJK Secretary Tourism and the Secretary Industries gave presentations on these two subjects. President FPCCI Sultan Ahmed Chawla assured all out support on behalf of himself and on behalf of the members of FPCCI in the development and growth of tourism sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the Pakistani business community to take advantage of the immense opportunities available in AJK and set up joint ventures to propel Pakistan's trade and industry.
