KARACHI - Prime Minister of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Monday said that the right of self-determination is the basis of freedom movement in the occupied Kashmir. He said this while talking to media after his meeting with the leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), at "90" Azizabad, here. Earlier, accompanying Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Minister for Tourism, Tahir Ahmed Khokhar, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Minister for Electricity and Overseas, Dr. Mehmood Riaz and Deputy Speaker Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Saleem But, the AJK Premier met with the members of MQM Rabita Committee. Talking to media, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan said that the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people will continue. Referring to his telephonic conversation with the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, Sardar Yaqoob said Altaf has assured him that his party (MQM) will continue its absolute support to the freedom movement of Kashmiri people. He informed that supporting struggle of the Kashmiri people for freedom, Altaf Hussain has said that the matter of Kashmir should be settled in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Replying to a question, he said that the long-lasting peace can only be ensured in South Asia region after resolution of Kashmir issue according to the United Nation (UN) Resolutions. He also appreciated and thanked the MQM for its relief and restoration activities of quake-affectees in Kashmir in the time of earthquake, hit in October 2005. Upon his arrival at MQM's headquarter, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir was accorded a warm welcome by the MQM leaders including Shoaib Bukhari. Meanwhile, MQM chief Altaf Hussain has said that his party would not accept any solution of Kashmir dispute against the will of Kashmiri people. He was talking to the Prime Minister Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Sardar Yaqoob and his delegation during his visit of MQM head quarter Nine-Zero. MQM has a crystal clear stance on Kashmir that the Kashmiri people have the right to deicide about their future, he added. He vowed that MQM would not accept any solution of Kashmir dispute against the will and desires of Kashmiri people. Referring to the PM Pakistan Occupied Kashmir visit of MQM head quarter, he advocated that it would be better and useful to reduce gap between Kashmir and Zero Point. He demanded of the President Asif Zadari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Federal cabinet to enhance the grant of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir government for the development programmes. In the last, he repeated hid desire that the dispute of Kashmir should be resolved in accordance with the aspirations of its people; otherwise any step taken in this regard would tend to prove destructive and fragile. APP ADDS: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has said that all out cooperation will be extended for economic development, promotion of tourism and improvement in the education and other sectors in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. He was talking to Prime Minister Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Sardar Mohammed Yakub Khan who met him at Governor House on Monday. The AJK Minister for Tourism Tahir Khokhar and Deputy Speaker Mohammed Saleem were also present on the occasion. The Governor said that industrialists and business community will be pursued for playing an effective role in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir while private sector will also be approached for actively working for health facilities and for medical and engineering education in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Speaking about Kashmir issue, he said it is an issue of every Pakistani, the punch and pain of which is being felt for the last 60 years. He assured that quota for Kashmiri students in Sindh's educational institutions will be ensured. He told Sardar Yakub that cooperation will be provided from Artificial Limb Center in Karachi for rehabilitation of people rendered disabled during the 20005 earthquake. Prime Minister Pakistan Occupied Kashmir said that inclusion of MQM in the cabinet has provided a new spirit to government of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and thanked for his warm welcome in Karachi. On the occasion Sardar Yakub invited Governor Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on a visit to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Later, speaking at a reception from Pakistan International Human Rights at a local hotel Monday morning, he said that previous AJK government accepted the change in a democratic manner. He said that present AJK government will continue with the good policies and deeds of the previous government. He also recalled the sacrifices given by the people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir in the construction of Mangla Dam and thanked the government for atlast resolving the problems of affected people in just one meeting. He said the affected people have been provided developed plots for just Rs 2.5 lac as against actual price of Rs0.6m. He said that now work on Mangla raising is starting and there will be no problem due to the initiatives taken by Federal Ministers Qamaruzzaman Kaira and Parvez Ashraf. Earlier Malaika Burney, President Women Wing of Pakistan International Human Rights discussed their project of providing shelter to earthquake hit people of Kashmir with AJK Prime Minister Sardar Yakub who assured to provide land for the purpose.
