PBIT to import LNG for industries

LAHORE - With a view to overcome the growing natural gas shortages, Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) has been coordinating the efforts of importing Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for large industrial consumers. In this regard, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Executive Officer PBIT, Saadat Muzafar and attended by the industrial executives, business leaders and professionals. International delegates of LNG supply companies were also present in the meeting. An overview of the project was presented to the audience and an in-depth technical discussion followed. The meeting created the momentum and optimism among the stakeholders to work together on all the issues to make this initiative a success Import of such natural gas would reduce the demand and make natural gas available for other industries and consumers. The objective of this initiative is to generate economic activity and improve quality of life of the people. This meeting about LNG import was an important step to bring all stakeholders together and move ahead with consensus and full understanding.
