KARACHI - The Sindh Home Department imposed ban on manufacturing, import and distribution of Ajinomoto salt. A notification in this regard was issued on Friday, stating that the government of Sindh in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 144 (6) CrPC has imposed complete ban on manufacturing, import and distribution of the salt in the province with immediate effect until further orders.It further said that the SHOs of concerned police station are authorised to register the complaints under Section 188 PPC in writing for the violation of Section 144 Cr. PC against the violators.It is pertinent to mention here that the Supreme Court had ordered to ban the Ajinomoto salt, commonly known as Chinese salt, after the Punjab Food Authority report termed it hazardous for the health.
