Multan Sultans on Wednesday beat Lahore Qalandars by 28 runs, making their way to the finals of the Pakistan Super League's seventh edition.

The loss for the Shaheen Afridi-led side means that they will either face Peshawar Zalmi or Islamabad United in the Eliminator 2. The winner of Eliminator 1, which will take place tomorrow, will face Qalandars in Eliminator 2.

After being put in to bat first, the Sultans made 163-2 in the allotted 20 overs, thanks to the fifties from Rizwan and the stunner Rossouw.

Multan, after beginning off poorly; losing their in-form opener Shan Masood cheaply for two, bounced back and went on to post a commendable total in the PSL 7 qualifier.

When the side stranded at 3-1, Aamer Azmat joined Rizwan at the crease and recorded a magnificent 47-runs partnership for the second wicket. Azmat, who was looking solid could not keep going for long as Samit Patel got his stumps in the seventh over.

Aamer Azmat scored a quick 33 off 22 balls; smashing five boundaries. Following his departure, Rossouw and Rizwan then put an unbeaten 113-runs partnership on the scoreboard.

The pair stayed a little slow in the beginning, however, accelerated later in the innings. Rizwan scored 53 off 51 balls with the help of three boundaries, while Rossouw top-scored with 65 off 42 balls; smacking seven boundaries and a six.

For the Qalandars, Mohammad Hafeez and Patel made one scalp each.

In pursuit of the desired target, Lahore Qalandars opener Fakhar Zaman, who scored six half-centuries in the tournament, registered another half-century. The fantastic Fakhar begin the innings with Abdullah Shafique who could not play well. Asif Afridi got an early break through for the Sultans as he bowled Abdullah Shafique in the third over, putting pressure on the United. The experienced batter continued to excel against Sultans but could not help his side win the game.

Mohammad Hafeez got out for zero as things worsen for Lahore. While Harry Brook and Fakhar notched a 54-run stand to keep Lahore in the game, it was Dahani who changed the game, as he removed Harry for 13, and also sent the next batter Samit Patel packing with a sensational catch. After that, Sultans' completely got the grip on the game as all the other batters had no clue to hit boundaries against the sensational bowling of Multan.

In terms of bowling, Dahani was brilliant with figures of 3-19, Willey picked two, while Rumman Raees, Khushdil Shah and Asif picked one. Shahnawaz Dahani bagged the tittle of man of the match
