Sometime ago, when our Defense Minister had said that we cannot shoot down the CIA-sponsored, unmanned US drones, the Pakistan Air Force said it was capable of striking these mechanical contraptions down. Then, the Saab aircrafts were commissioned into Pakistani fleet and the Air Force, once again, said that these new planes could be used to tackle the drones. Finally, just recently, when the Defense Minister said, We have raised the issue of drones on every level but the US doesnt listen to us. There doesnt seem to be a solution to the issue, the Air Force has held an air show to demonstrate it could shoot down a drone. Since all other ways have failed in stopping these metal birds from inflicting casualties on us, I suggest we immediate shoot down one or two of these so that US could be taught a lesson. -RAQIM HAQUE, Karachi, January 21.
