Leghari making futile efforts to return to politics

LAHORE - Provincial Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that Farooq Leghari, the remnant of Pervez Mush-arraf, has been rejected by the people in the political field, and now he is making futile efforts to come back in politics by levelling baseless accusations against the elected political leadership of the country. He said that people were fully aware of Legharis 'ungrateful politics and they also knew well that on what channel and on whose behalf he was speaking now. Reacting upon the interview of former President Farooq Leghari, Rana Sanaullah said that if Farooq Leghari came down from his 'Bunker Choti Zeereen, he could see that number of developments and welfare projects were being implemented in the Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. However, if he could not see the development due to his short-sightedness, there was no fault of the Punjab government. He advised Farooq Leghari to get himself examined. Rana Sanaullah said that levelling of allegations by feudal lord against a popular political leadership of national level was natural and Leghari could not change his nature. He said that Leghari was not in favour of prosperity and welfare of the people. He said that Leghari was afraid of giving rights to the poor, agro-tenants and education to poor children. He said that he (Leghari) was aware of this fact that due to education and social development, poor, labourer and agro-tenants would not respect the feudal lords like Farooq Leghari. The Minister said that these feudal lords were against the welfare of the poor people otherwise they could see installation of computers in the schools, provision of free medicines to the poor people in the hospitals and other development projects worth billion of rupees throughout the province. He said that Farooq Leghari knew well that the way Nawaz Sharif had disarmed him from 58-2(b) under a political strategy, now Shahbaz Sharif would also end the 'umpire of so-called feudal lords through development works and providing rights to the people. He said that the word 'ungrateful was rightly used for former President Farooq Leg-hari as he showed disloyality to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and the PPP. Rana Sanaullah said that Farooq Leghari would be remembered like Mir Jafer and Mir Sadiq in the history books and now he was issuing baseless statements to keep himself alive. However, people did now know him as former President but knew him due to looting of money of Mehran Bank, and handing over Emal Kansi to America against dollars. He advised Leghari to refrain from issuing such political statements.
