Changing our outlook

Unity Walk in Paris, organized by the French authorities was led by leaders of more then 40 countries, even Russian foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov was present, even though the relationship between Russian and Europe Union is not good. From 1.5 to 2 million people participated, showing sympathy and not a single mishap occurred, while relies in Pakistan are shameful and full of killings and injuries. Model Town tragedy, Islamabad incident (torture of PTI and PAT workers in August and September 2014), Lahore and Karachi tragedies (torture of blind people, nurses, teachers, governments employees and labourers) are worth mentioning.
Pakistan has seen many protests and with it torture by the police and violence on the streets, I think we as a nation have to become mature and sensible. The protest in Karachi against blasphemy, saw three wounded, one critically. Why does the police torture the protestors? We have to learn how to protest without burning and breaking and the police needs to understand not to use violence without any provocation. The leaders, who give order for these march’s or protest, be it political or religious need to take responsibility of the crowd. Our politicians also need to make the people who follow them learn restrain. We have to show the world that we, Pakistani’s and people who follow Islam, are nonviolent and peaceful.
