Four people were injured after a blast was heard near Phandu Chowk, Chamkani, Peshawar.

Rescue teams have cordoned the area. The injured have been taken to Lady Reading hospital.

According to reports, the blast was remote controlled and took place within Chamkani police station's jurisdiction.

According to Bomb Disposal Squad officials, the explosive material weighed 3 kilograms.

This is the latest in a recent surge of terror attacks in Pakistan. Last week security officials were targetted in Quetta and Peshawar, before Wednesday's Bacha Khan University attack in Charsadda which killed 21 people, most of them being students and staff members.

On Thursday a bomb was detonated from Peshawar's General Bus Stand.
