LAHORE - Punjab Police Additional IG (Training) Tariq Masood Yaseen on Tuesday said the police training system was being upgraded in accordance with modern parameters.
In addition to basic rules of practical policing, subjects like IT, legal studies, physical training, sports and extracurricular activities have been made mandatory in the training syllabus so that there is no deficiency in training of officers and officials. The officer expressed these views during a meeting with a three-member delegation of the British High Commission at his office on Tuesday. AIG (Training) Maroof Safdar Wahla, chief instructors and senior police officers of the training management unit were also present on this occasion. Simon Charder, Richil and Saadia Ambreen were part of the delegation, the police spokesman said. Yaseen said new modules had been added to training courses for constable to sub-inspector ranks with respect to their duties and special attention was being paid to modernize the examination system with semester system.
